Jim came to SAHCC in June of 2014. He has lived in Ohio, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, and finally California, WHEW! He was a Bible Theology major at Moody Bible Institute, received a B.A. in Psychology from Trinity College, and his M.Div, and D.Min from International Seminary. Jim and his wife Vicki have been married since 1978, have four married children and ten grandkids. Jim has previously served as youth pastor in Wisconsin and Michigan and as senior pastor in Apple Valley as well as here at the Heights. He also currently serves as the President of Pacific Church Network, which he has led since 2006. He loves all sports (playing and watching), but still claims that he is a below average golfer, and just goes to make others feel better. Some of his other favorite things are Hawaii 5-0, The Amazing Race, The Chronicles of Narnia, Armageddon (the movie, not the upcoming event) and playing practical jokes on people. Interesting fact: he once fainted while preaching (he had pneumonia).
Cindy has been an IE local her whole life. She has her B.A. in Business Management from CSUSB -- Go Coyotes! She and her husband Hank have been married for 40 years and have two of the best kids in the whole world. They have been attending The Heights since 1996. They walked into the kitchen one day and asked if they could help and having been serving faithfully ever since. Cindy loves sewing, quilting, knitting and any other type of fabric art activity. She loves reading autobiographies, mysteries and quilting magazines on her Kindle, watching The Amazing Race, and attending NHRA drag racing events. Fun Fact: Cindy was on stage at the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction when Don Prudhomme sold his Snake and Mongoose Dragsters.
This is Ricky; he loves dessert.
Ricky joined our staff and church in August of 2020. He was born in Ohio, grew up in South Carolina, lived in Washington State for 10 years, then Oregon for 11 years. Moving around this much has given him the joy of many opportunities to retell his favorite stories. :)
Ricky and his wife Ruth have four children, a Golden Retriever, and a cat. After 26 years of working in retail and managing stores, Ricky served as a church and IT administrator in Aloha, Oregon, for five years. He comes to us with a Christ-centered passion to relieve the burdens of those in ministry so they can more effectively do the work they've been called to do. He loves to improve systems for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and people-oriented service over "product." Besides Ricky's part-time work as SAHCC's Church Administrator, he and Ruth are also re-launching the youth ministry as volunteer youth leaders, and they are working as domestic missionaries with Novo Missions, Inc. and the reFocusing and ACTIVATE(D) teams.
